Many sustainable investment strategies heavily weighted toward technology stocks. Asset owners are asking managers to address concerns over AI’s growing energy consumption and demonstrate good stewardship.
While the energy consumption of technology companies is not a new problem, it’s not yet clear if AI will create the efficiencies needed to improve efficiency or create an additional burden. But it’s vital asset managers close monitor the situation.
