January has been frenetic! We have managed to cram in two gifted workshops, two client workshops and one networking event. Charlotte started co-hosting EY’s Re-imagining Pensions Podcast with Paul Kitson. The Professional Investment Podcast also published the first two episodes of series five. Learn more about our podcasting services here. We have plenty of events already planned for the rest of the quarter – scroll down to see all our events.
‘Maximise your LinkedIn’ workshop
Our 2026 events calendar started with a well-attended ‘Maximise your LinkedIn’ workshop. We had a great group – embracing our exercises with enthusiasm, playing our tactics versus strategy game with gusto and learning how to think about their clients’ chickens!
We enjoyed showing our audience how you to build client connection with LinkedIn today and in the future as well as sharing how social media allows you to talk to different types of clients.
LinkedIn is a powerful and cost-effective way to grasp the opportunities as the role of the investment consultant erodes and it becomes possible to build long-term partnerships with clients. But it only works if you have the right strategy – used tactically it will not move the dial!
‘Win that pitch’ workshop
Despite the rain, our ‘Win that pitch’ workshop proved popular. Our audience was happy to get out of its comfort zone and embrace all the exercises Sylvia Cohen, Natasha Moore and I taught them.
We enjoyed showing the group how mastering your body, breath and voice helps you to be a confident performer in every situation. When you are calm, you can make connection with your audience and focus on the message you want to deliver.
Natasha and I taught our attendees how to be compelling when they meet a potential client for the first time to spark their curiosity and to make them want to meet you again.
‘Consolidation versus value for money – which wins?’ networking event
There was a strong showing at our first networking event of the year with more than 30 showing up to discuss ‘Consolidation versus value for money – which wins?’
We had a great panel – Donna Walsh, head of master trust & IGC governance at Standard Life, Maiyuresh Rajah. director of investments at Aviva, Chris Curry of the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) and Gary Mallon, senior DC investment consultant at Hymans Robertson.
They shared fascinating insights, explained the conflicts well and struck just the right note of credibility and playfulness. And our audience shared great questions!
